The prime ministers discussed the prospects of promoting cooperation to counter the novel coronavirus infection with an emphasis on broadening contacts between Russian and Vietnamese medical specialists and healthcare institutions.
Mikhail Mishustin and Nguyen Xuan Phuc discussed the implementation process of large joint projects in industry, oil and gas, and electricity. They focused on building new power generation facilities in Vietnam and setting up assembly plants for Russian automobiles.
The prime ministers stressed the importance of the Free Trade Zone Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam, first of all in the context of the developing Russian-Vietnamese trade and economic cooperation and growing mutual trade.
Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited Mikhail Mishustin to make an official visit to Vietnam after the coronavirus-related travel restrictions are lifted. The prime ministers also agreed to maintain contacts on issues of mutual interest.
