Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak held a working meeting with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov.
The parties discussed prospects for fuel and energy cooperation as part of preparations for the upcoming meeting of the two countries’ leaders in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia-Kazakhstan cooperation in trade, the economy, and investment was progressing successfully, with large-scale joint industry and energy projects being implemented. “Relations with Astana are among Russia’s foreign policy priorities. We welcome the level of ongoing dialogue. The effective bilateral and multilateral cooperation amid strong global turbulence enjoys more demand today than ever before. Given the circumstances, we must act decisively, work as a team in pursuit of our shared political and economic interests, and make full use of the potential of the highly integrated ties created in previous years,” Alexander Novak emphasised.
