First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov had a meeting as part of his working visit to China with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang.
The two officials discussed the key matters on the agenda of the Russia-China Intergovernmental Commission for Investment Cooperation ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to China. They noted that the commission has now more joint projects in its portfolio, which currently covers several sectors, including the metals industry, chemistry, machine engineering, timber production, agroindustry, transport and logistics.
“Investments have a positive bearing on bilateral trade. This year, we succeeded in reviving positive momentum in this sector,” Denis Manturov pointed out.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to creating a business-friendly and predictable environment with the view to further strengthening business-to-business ties between Russia and China. In this context, they highlighted the importance of holding during these days the 10th anniversary Russia-China EXPO in Harbin. It emerged as one of the main joint platforms for expanding bilateral trade and economic ties and region-to-region cooperation.
