Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk held a working meeting with First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiyev on the sidelines of the 17th International Economic Forum Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum.
The sides discussed a broad range of issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation and interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, focusing on the further development of bilateral trade, customs administration cooperation, and investment ties.
In 2025, trade between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic exceeded $5 billion, increasing by nearly 26 percent over the past year. “This substantial increment shows that the mechanisms used within the Eurasian Economic Union, such as barrier-free environment, duty-free trade and a common customs framework, have produced the desired result and created optimal conditions for mutual trade,” Alexei Overchuk stated.
Alexei Overchuk and Daniyar Amangeldiyev discussed investment cooperation, including at the level of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. “It is one of the main financial institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is actively involved in investment activities and serves as an effective link between the Russian and Kyrgyz businesses and a guide for Russian investment in Kyrgyzstan,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The participants reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral efforts towards the sustainable development of Russian-Kyrgyz economic cooperation.
