The Prime Minister of Belarus met with Deputy Prime Minister the during his working visit to the republic.
Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchinov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk during his working visit to Minsk.
The officials focused on bilateral issues, including the development of trade and economic cooperation and the improvement of taxation and customs interaction.
The Prime Minister of Belarus mentioned the growth of bilateral trade. “Our trade is growing fast, and we will yet again report our record achievements to our presidents at the next meeting of the Supreme State Council,” Turchinov said.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia spoke highly of the development of bilateral cooperation. He emphasized that mutual trade is expected to reach $70 billion in 2026, and that 99.1 percent of mutual settlements are made in national currencies.
Alexei Overchuk stated that the Russian delegation arrived in Belarus for the 13th Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions. “This important event promotes closer ties between our peoples and offers an opportunity to meet with old friends, sign various contracts and agreements, and develop interregional relations,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
