Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak attended the funeral of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of the State of Qatar.
On behalf of the President and Government of Russia, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed condolences to the Emir’s family, as well as the leadership and the people of Qatar. He noted the significant contribution Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani made to the country’s development and to strengthening its international ties.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Alexander Novak also had working meetings with Qatari officials to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and further developing the partnership between the two countries.
