Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak held a working meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fuel and energy sector. “The energy partnership between Russia and Türkiye is truly strategic. Against a backdrop of regional and global instability, energy cooperation carries particular importance. Russia has been, and remains, a reliable supplier of gas, oil and other natural resources to the Turkish market. The TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines are operating without interruption, and Rosatom is continuing the construction of Türkiye’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu – effectively building a new nuclear energy industry in the republic,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Alexander Novak invited Alparslan Bayraktar to take part in the business programme of Russian Energy Week to be held in Moscow from October 14 through 16, 2026.
