First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was received by the country’s President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The officials discussed current matters dealing with the multi-faceted interaction between Russia and the UAE, which has been generating positive momentum. In December 2026, the two countries will mark the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
“Our trade and economic ties are successfully expanding. Last year, trade between our countries increased by a factor of 1.5 to a historical high of $14 billion. We expect the Agreement on Economic Partnership between the EAEU and the United Arab Emirates to come into force before the end of this year. This agreement will help improve trade in terms of its quality and balance,” Denis Manturov said.
This will be an important addition to last year’s Russia-UAE agreements on free trade in services and double taxation. The other day, President Vladimir Putin signed the law On the Ratification of the Agreement on Economic Partnership between the EAEU and the UAE and the Russia-UAE Intergovernmental Agreement on Trade in Services and on Investment.
The parties to the talks noted that cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture, energy, high technologies, and on humanitarian affairs was following a positive trajectory.
First Deputy Prime Minister Manturov congratulated the leader of the UAE and the friendly people of the UAE on the approaching Eid al-Adha festival, known as Kurban Bairam in Russia.
