The meeting took place on the sidelines of the CIS Council of Heads of Government meeting, which is underway in Turkmenistan.
Mikhail Mishustin meets with President and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow
Mikhail Mishustin’s remarks at the meeting:
Mr Berdimuhamedow, thank you for the warm welcome extended to the Russian delegation here at the CIS Council of Heads of Government meeting.
I would also like to take this opportunity to convey warm greetings from President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
We indeed have a substantial agenda before us, which we will discuss today both in a restricted format and in the expanded meeting.
I would also like to thank you for the effective cooperation between our countries.
The intergovernmental commission, co-chaired on our side by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, is actively engaged across a wide range of areas, including industry, energy and logistics. One particularly promising area is the North-South transport corridor, which opens up new markets for our countries in India, China, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Persian Gulf region.
I hope that our visit will provide further momentum to the development of relations between Russia and Turkmenistan, not only in trade and the economy, but also in culture, which closely connects our friendly peoples.
Thank you very much.
