Denis Manturov visits Tashkent Passenger Carriage Construction and Repair Plant
First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov visited the Tashkent Passenger Carriage Construction and Repair Plant (TVRSZ) as part of his working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
TVRSZ is the only enterprise in Uzbekistan specialising in the repair, modernisation, and refurbishment of passenger carriages. In furtherance of strengthening Russian-Uzbekistani cooperation, the facility actively employs Russian technologies and extensive successful experience in the development, production, and maintenance of railway equipment. The principal objective of this work is to expand the presence of Russian-made transport in the Uzbekistani market, with the potential for subsequent exports.
As Denis Manturov emphasised, the unique engineering school and production base, dating back to the Soviet era, enable Russian and Uzbekistani enterprises to jointly tackle tasks of any complexity, whilst taking into account both current and future needs of the transport industry.
“Our key manufacturers are widely represented in the Uzbekistani market. Since 2007, equipment totalling over 30 billion roubles has been supplied – this includes electric trains, diesel locomotives, metro carriages, freight wagons, and diesel engines, as well as other units and components. Cooperation also continues in maintenance and repair services, digitalisation, and the modernisation of local infrastructure. In terms of localisation, Russian companies are already actively engaged in this process,” Mr Manturov stated.
Beyond production cooperation, technological collaboration is also actively developing. Last year, Transmashholding (TMH) opened the Innovative Rail Transport Competence Development Centre at Tashkent State Technical University.
