President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Denis Manturov during a meeting
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov. The meeting was also attended by heads of Russian regions and companies.
The parties discussed in detail the outlook for expanding cooperation in machine engineering, the chemical industry, mining, oil and gas, and power generation. Denis Manturov conveyed to President Mirziyoyev a message of warm greetings and best wishes from President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“The agenda of our talks was extensive. Mr Mirziyoyev personally devotes considerable attention to all projects and issues under his control. Today, we have once again become convinced that the practice initiated by Mr Mirziyoyev, aimed at closer interaction between the regions of Russia and Uzbekistan, is yielding significant results. The regions of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation regularly interact and maintain contacts. Companies are laying the groundwork for assembly plants [in Uzbekistan] that would add value to the main production units in Russia. Uzbekistan’s favourable location means that these projects enable supplies not only to Uzbekistan’s market but also to neighbouring countries with emerging markets. Russian companies are interested in creating manufacturing facilities. Currently, Russian businesses are helping Uzbekistan to bulild its fifth industrial park. We hope that Uzbekistan’s leaders will also support projects on our bilateral agenda,” Denis Manturov said following the talks.
In addition, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov held talks with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
