Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation Vinay Kumar. The officials discussed opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries.
“Russian-Indian trade in agricultural products and food is growing rapidly. Last year, for example, trade in agricultural produce increased by more than 60 percent. We are interested in promoting mutual trade even further,” Dmitry Patrushev said.
He added that Russia is ready to boost exports to India of vegetable oils, livestock products, fish, wheat, and leguminous plants. For its part, Russia is interested in importing Indian agricultural products, including fruit and vegetables.
The officials also discussed possible additional growth areas for bilateral cooperation.
