Alexei Overchuk met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev on the sidelines of a meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, held in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During their conversation, the officials reviewed key issues of expanded trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, including the creation of the most favourable conditions for exporters and importers of both countries in order to accomplish an objective, set by the presidents of both countries, to expand bilateral trade volumes.
In the context of simplifying and streamlining freight traffic between our countries, they noted the importance of work to involve the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Unified Customs Transit System of the EAEU.
Alexei Overchuk and Jamshid Khodjaev agreed to invigorate dialogue between economic agencies and expert communities in Russia and Uzbekistan on issues of studying opportunities to liberalise bilateral trade relations still further.
