Together with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation endowed with the powers of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Krutoi, and State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk co-chaired a meeting to prepare and hold a session of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
The event took place at the Government Coordination Centre pavilion of the Russia Exhibition and Forum. Representatives from related ministries and agencies of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus participated in the discussion.
“The December session will conclude the work of the High-Level Group of Russia and Belarus this year,” Alexei Overchuk said. “We will review practical matters of trade and economic cooperation between our countries in industry, transport and logistics, and matters of ensuring the digital sovereignty of the Union State, as well as other areas of joint work. We will discuss the proposals of the working group regarding the replacement of software at state-owned companies and a list of measures to ensure digital sovereignty of the Union State in the industrial sector. In the transport sector, we will review the outcomes of implementation of the bilateral cooperation agreements between the governments of our countries and the development of the railway infrastructure of the Union State. The upcoming session participants will review the use of navigation seals for certain categories of timber placed under the export customs procedure in the Republic of Belarus and the export through the Russian territory of certain types of timber originating from Belarus.
We will also discuss progress in implementing the decisions included in the minutes of a High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers meeting. The meeting will be held at the Government Coordination Centre of the Russia Exhibition and Forum.
