Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk met with Minister for Privatisation, Investment and Communications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan in Moscow to discuss the expansion of Russian-Pakistani trade and economic cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Alexei Overchuk thanked Abdul Alim Khan for attending the Russian-Pakistani Trade and Investment Forum, which is taking place in Moscow on 1 and 2 October, 2024.
During the meeting, both sides noted the dynamic bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as industry and investment cooperation.
“We welcome Pakistan’s interest in development of the North-South International Transport Corridor which is becoming one of the most important trade routes in Eurasia supporting better connectivity between countries of Northern Eurasia and the Global South,” Alexei Overchuk said.
“Pakistan views enhancing connectivity with Russia as a vital step towards expansion of bilateral trade,” Abdul Aleem Khan said.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to ensure further interaction between the relevant agencies of Russia and Pakistan to coordinate their next steps to implement the plans.
