First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin. They discussed issues of cooperation in a wide range of areas.
The dialogue between Russia and Serbia continues despite the current uneasy foreign policy circumstances. “We appreciate Belgrade’s steadfast position, including with respect to cooperation with Moscow, given the unprecedented pressure from the collective West. We value the relations between our countries and peoples,” noted Denis Manturov, speaking to his colleague.
On 13 August, Moscow was the venue of a meeting between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Serbian Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation: minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia Nenad Popovic and Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov. “The agreement reached to hold a full-format meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee in November will give an additional impetus to interaction at the level of industry-specific agencies and interested economic operators,” emphasised the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Government.
During the talks the parties touched on cooperation in bilateral trade, energy and transportation. “The primary task is to overcome artificial obstacles and search for new areas of cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis,” said Denis Manturov.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister summed up the results of his visit to Russia during his meeting with Denis Manturov. Aleksandar Vulin emphasised the strategic nature of relations between the two countries and expressed gratitude to the Russian leadership for commitment to the principles of territorial integrity and state sovereignty of Serbia.
