Alexander Novak meets with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich.
“Belarus will invariably remain Russia’s closest ally and strategic partner. We sincerely cherish our fraternal relations based on the principles of good-neighborliness, mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests. Russia accounts for about 60 percent of the republic's foreign trade. We view cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the fuel and energy sector as an important part of the integration process of the Union State. In this regard, we are developing projects aimed at strengthening energy security and sustainable economic development,” said Alexander Novak.
During the meeting, the parties discussed efforts to deepen integration in the Union State, interaction in trade, economy and energy sectors, conditions of the energy resources supplies, and the progress in developing a united oil and gas market.
