The meeting came as part of Prime Minister Medvedev’s visit to Tatarstan.

Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Mamin, welcome to Kazan. We meet regularly, which is good and makes it possible for our respective governments to keep tabs on the agenda of Russia-Kazakhstan cooperation. Our cooperation is fairly extensive, the numbers involved are not insignificant. We are talking about bilateral cooperation and, of course, our interaction within the Eurasian Economic Union. Recently, we briefly discussed a number of issues. Today, we can talk more about it as part of WorldSkills.
Thank you so much for participating in the opening ceremony for this championship of professional excellence. It is an exciting event, as I hope you will agree. Of course, there are participants from Kazakhstan for whom you will be rooting. We have a large team. But most importantly, this event helps create a cohort of professionals who will promote and develop our economies in the coming decades. So, thank you very much for coming here to attend the opening of the championship and at the same time to get acquainted with Tatarstan’s achievements. I’m aware that you have already visited a number of industries this morning. I hope you were favourably impressed by what you saw.

Askar Mamin: Thank you, Mr Medvedev. Indeed, we recently agreed to meet in Kazan and to discuss important issues of the bilateral agenda. We have major projects in the Eurasian Economic Union. We noted that we have great potential in industrial cooperation. Our industrialists are part of the delegation. Indeed, we visited several large enterprises of Tatarstan this morning. We have large-scale projects on the agenda which will take our investment cooperation to a new level.
