Alexander Novak’s meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Sihasak Phuangketkeow
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
The parties discussed trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation in the energy sector.
The sides noted that bilateral trade remains stable. In 2025, trade between the countries increased by 2.3 percent. This trend has continued this year, with trade growing by 22 percent over the first five months. Trade in services is also expanding, while active work is underway to develop investment cooperation.
“Thailand is Russia’s old partner in Southeast Asia. Next year, Russia and Thailand will mark the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Our ties are rooted in traditions of mutual respect and trust, as well as a shared desire to step up cooperation across a wide range of areas,” Alexander Novak stressed.
In conclusion, Alexander Novak invited Sihasak Phuangketkeow and his Thai colleagues to participate in the ninth Russian Energy Week International Forum, which will be held at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow on 14–16 October 2026.
