Marat Khusnullin at a meeting with Rustam Emomali , Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of Majlisi Oli (National Assembly) of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, arrived in Dushanbe on a visit.
”Russia and Tajikistan are bound by long-standing friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which is now on the rise. We work closely together in trade and the economy, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. We continue to cooperate in finance, transport infrastructure, industry and trade, including agricultural imports and exports. To increase trade, we continue developing the International North-South Transport Corridor. Russian-Tajikistani relations in education and culture are making great strides. I am confident in further joint productive cooperation,“ the Deputy Prime Minister said.
During his visit, Marat Khusnullin was received by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The sides noted the positive dynamics in the expansion of interaction between the countries and interest in deeper interstate cooperation.
Marat Khusnullin and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda toured a secondary school named after Yuri Gagarin. It is one of Tajikistan’s five schools offering instruction in Russian and to Russian standards. The school was opened in September 2022 by President Vladimir Putin and President Emomali Rahmon.
“We highly appreciate the way the Russian language is treated in Tajikistan, primarily, Emomali Rahmon’s unwavering focus on this matter. We are grateful for the support in implementing projects and initiatives to expand the availability of instruction in the Russian language. These projects strengthen ties between our countries and friendship between our citizens,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan signed an agreement on repurposing a building in Dushanbe for a school in the presence of Marat Khusnullin and Kokhir Rasulzoda.
The Deputy Prime Minister also met with Rustam Emomali, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe. He and Marat Khusnullin toured the construction sites of an educational centre for gifted children and the buildings of the Mayakovsky State Russian Drama Theatre.
