Mikhail Mishustin: Good afternoon, colleagues.
The coronavirus situation remains tense. We discussed this topic at the meeting with the President on Wednesday. It is necessary to continue testing for the infection. Unfortunately, this work is not carried out everywhere at the necessary level. There are regions that are behind.
I would like to once again draw the attention of the heads of the Russian regions to the fact that it is necessary to increase the volume of testing to a level that meets the established requirements of Rospotrebnadzor. This is very important in order to promptly identify cases and provide assistance, and it is also necessary to predict the epidemiological situation.
Not all the regions are following the chief sanitary doctor’s other recommendations, which are aimed at saving people’s lives and health. They must be observed, and doctors should play a more proactive role.
Today vaccination remains the most effective way to protect people from the coronavirus. A timely jab can help to protect oneself and others from the disease and its impact, which can be most unpredictable.
On the whole, the rate of vaccination has almost doubled recently across the country. The situation in the regions, however, varies a lot. The President drew special attention to the fact that leaders at the regional level should personally address vaccination issues. It is very important to tell people that it is necessary to get vaccinated and what medicines are available as well as to answer questions of interest so that people have no doubts.
