Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev paid a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, where he held talks with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral transport cooperation. The Russian delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and JSC Russian Railways.
Mr Saveliev noted the importance of partner relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan and praised results of the talks.
“The Republic of Uzbekistan is an important economic partner to the Russian Federation. Both sides have a vested interest in strengthening their transport cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at promoting the transit and export-import potential of the Central Asian Region,” Vitaly Saveliev said.
