Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin paid a working visit to the People’s Republic of China.
“Russia and China are working together to expand bilateral collaboration. Thanks to the joint efforts of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, the governments of both countries have achieved noticeable results in their work. We have established positive contacts and charted future objectives. For example, we are committed to more profound cooperation in the spheres of construction, the development of urban and rural territories and innovative energy-saving technologies. During my working visit, I was impressed with practical results of Chinese colleagues in the construction sector that can also prove useful for Russia. Just like our colleagues, we are committed to expanding bilateral relations and strengthening mutual trust in order to increase people’s well-being and boost living standards in both countries,” Marat Khusnullin noted.
During his working visit, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister met with Chinese officials and representatives of major construction industry companies. The sides discussed issues of housing, road and infrastructure construction, state property management, the development of rural and urban territories, the regulation of the construction market and multiple other issues.
In addition, Marat Khusnullin visited Xiong’an, a new city whose construction was launched in 2017 some 100 kilometres from Beijing on the initiative of President Xi Jinping. Its territory was designed in accordance with the 15minute-walk principle to create favourable living conditions for residents. The city now has everything it needs for comprehensive development, and its territory has been improved. An unattractive-looking swamp has been drained, given a “facelift” and turned into a picturesque body of water. In the next ten years, the area will become a full-fledged high-tech city meeting green standards and featuring smart water supply and power-generating systems. They will also build a major transit hub with a metro line and three underground floors there.
