Mikhail Mishustin’s remarks:
Colleagues,
I hereby join in the words of gratitude to our Kazakhstani partners for the excellently organised events during our meeting.
I would like to extend special greetings to Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, who is participating in this meeting for the first time. We look forward to establishing constructive collaboration in the future.
I also congratulate Iran on obtaining the observer status.
Colleagues,
Addressing the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting held in the Leningrad Region in December, President Vladimir Putin emphasised the fact that Russia highly values mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation with its partners in the union, which marked its 10th anniversary on January 1.
This one of the world’s most outstanding in terms of deep integration association that relies on supranational mechanisms has been created over that period. It helps effectively eliminate technical and administrative barriers to make way for the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labour.
We are seeing decent results across all areas. From January to November 2024, industrial output in the union grew by 4.3 percent, completed construction projects were up by 3 percent, and retail volume soared by more than 7.5 percent.
The interest in the union is growing. The institution of observer states is expanding, and so is the network of free trade agreements.
Once implemented, the Agreement on a Unified Customs Transit System will contribute to the expansion of the EAEU’s foreign economic ties.
I would like to highlight our union’s development priorities.
Stimulating manufacturing and creating cooperative chains to strengthen the union’s technological and industrial sovereignty is, without a doubt, our number one priority.
Unlocking the union’s logistical potential and, of course, implementing the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Eurasian Transport Corridors comes second.
Our third priority includes continued development of the digital technologies and the creation of supranational legal and technological solutions to ensure that citizens of the union can have unfettered access to government and commercial services within the union.
Fourth and critically important priority concerns across-the-board expansion of the domestic tourism in the union’s member countries.
Colleagues,
The efforts to grow our economies and to improve the quality of life in our countries continue unabated. The goals have been outlined by the leaders of our five countries in the declaration titled “The Eurasian Economic Path.”
This year, our Belarusian colleagues have taken over the chairmanship of the union’s bodies. We welcome the chairmanship priorities set by President Lukashenko. Russia is prepared to provide comprehensive support in order to implement them.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish Belarus and my counterpart, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, every success in this critically important endeavour.
