The participants reviewed a wide range of issues aimed at enhancing the legal framework of the EAEU and improving the business environment within the union.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk attended the 2025 inaugural meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council.
Conducted via videoconference, the parties examined a broad spectrum of issues with the objective of refining the legal framework of the EAEU and fostering a more favourable business climate across the union.
The EEC Council approved an action plan to evaluate the scientific and technical level of the EAEU’s technical regulations and the corresponding standards that have been enacted. The execution of this plan will enable the assessment of the alignment of these technical regulations and standards with the current stage of economic and technological advancement.
Revisions were introduced to the Rules for the Registration and Expertise of Medicinal Products for Medical Use and the Rules for Conducting Research on Biological Medicinal Products. These amendments will ensure the continued availability of medicinal products within the union’s market and will aid in encouraging the advancement of the research and development system for new medicinal products.
The meeting ratified the procedure for the collection, consolidation, and submission of information regarding identified instances of the circulation of hazardous products that have resulted in harm and/or damage to human life and/or health, property, the environment, and the life and/or health of animals and plants.
Two collaborative projects in the industrial sector were endorsed, which will be granted financial backing in accordance with the newly established mechanism adopted in 2024. These projects involve enterprises from three member states of the union, as prescribed by the regulation.
The Council approved a draft agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, scheduled to take place on 30–31 January in Kazakhstan.
