Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk had a meeting with Mongolia’s delegation headed by Deputy Minister of the Economy and Development Gantumur Tuvdendorj on the sidelines of the 27th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The officials had an extensive exchange of views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between Russia and Mongolia on the trade and economic agenda, which has gained significant momentum in 2023–2024.
Gantumur Tuvdendorj expressed appreciation to the Russian side for the attention paid to the issues of cooperation with Mongolia both in the bilateral format and with a view to the regional context.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Russia Olziisaikhany Enkhtuvshin, who took part in the meeting, praised the joint efforts to implement the agreements reached within the framework of the Intergovernmental Russian-Mongolian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
Alexei Overchuk confirmed his readiness to provide further necessary assistance to the intergovernmental commission’s activities, and as a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council to contribute to the development of Mongolia’s dialogue with the EAEU aimed at increasing mutual trade, providing better conditions for access to each other’s markets, and strengthening economic connectivity in the Eurasian macro-region.
