The agenda: Developments regarding deadly shooting at school in Kazan; preparations for the annual Government report on its performance to the State Duma.

Mikhail Mishustin: Colleagues, I would like to offer my condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed in Kazan. As you are aware, a terrible tragedy took place in the morning. Children were shot at a local school. This is extremely inhuman and brutal. School pupils and adults are among those who lost their lives, and every such loss amounts to tremendous grief. I would like to ask you to honour the memory of the deceased. Just a while ago I was speaking with the President who has issued a number of instructions in connection with this tragedy. Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko, a team of medical experts, as well as Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, will fly over to Kazan shortly.
Ms Golikova (Addressing Tatyana Golikova), of course, we must help the parents and the children. It is of upmost importance that all of them are given the required medical and psychological support. Please update us what’s already been done and how things look at the moment.
Tatyana Golikova: Mr Mishustin, colleagues, I would also like to offer my condolences to the families of the deceased. The President has instructed that an Emergencies Ministry aircraft fly to Kazan, and it will be taking off from Zhukovsky at 1.40 pm. As you have already mentioned, the Minister of Healthcare and the Minister of Education are onboard the aircraft. They are being accompanied by nine medical experts, forensic medical workers and psychologists who specialise in dealing with such situations. Although the republic has all the required resources they need, we are directly communicating with them. We will provide all necessary help and support. First of all, I am referring to medical experts, medication and equipment. The people there have severe gunshot wounds, and gunshot wound specialists are therefore needed. These medics are now heading for the republic. We are keeping tabs on what’s going on, and we will keep you updated.

situation and keep us informed about what’s happening.
I would like to once again offer the sincerest support and compassion for
all those, whose relatives and friends have suffered. The entire country stands
with you. And, of course, I would like to wish a speedy recovery to the children
and adults who were hurt and wounded during the shooting.
Colleagues, the State Duma will hear the annual Government report on its
performance tomorrow. We see this as our constitutional duty and as a good
opportunity for an open, frank and candid conversation with the deputies.
We will be discussing high-priority aspects to do with our work,
including legislative matters. We will have a rather difficult but frank
conversation dealing with what has been done in 2020, including during the
active phase of the spread of COVID-19.
We must also be prepared to discuss the implementation of the President’s
instructions following his Address to the Federal Assembly. Together with our
State Duma colleagues we have to get through rather a lot here. We will also discuss
what has been done for the country’s development, support for families with
children, infrastructure and national projects. Needless to say, the deputies
will submit their questions to the Government. Everyone should be ready for
this.
