During his visit to the 27th World University Summer Games, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich toured Kazan International Airport, where he was shown the Galaktika air traffic control automated complex. The deputy prime minister also watched air traffic controllers at work and saw how they can upgrade their skills using training simulators.
Mr Dvorkovich also visited the interdepartmental operations headquarters to ensure aircraft flight safety, which was set up for the World University Summer Games in Kazan.
Representatives of the departments told the deputy prime minister that the experience of headquarters is also instrumental for testing practices to be used during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
During his visit, Mr Dvorkovich also toured the second summer campus of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, whose programme involves some 300 students, postgraduate students and young researchers from various Russian and foreign universities. The deputy prime minister met with the forum participants and answered their questions.
