Meeting attendees considered developing the oil and gas chemical industry in the Far Eastern Federal District.
Following the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich ordered the commission to work out details within two months about resources and the capacity of pipelines and other infrastructure in the region, and then revisit the issue of establishing the Eastern Petrochemical Company.
The meeting agenda also included organising and carrying out geological exploration in the Russian Federation and its continental shelf, using funds from the federal budget and subsurface users.
Following the Ministry of Natural Resources’ report, Mr Dvorkovich requested the expedited drafting of regulations aimed at stimulating private investments in geological studies.
In addition, meeting attendees, pursuant to the orders of the President, approved the list of participants in the working group on using natural gas as a motor fuel and agreed on the need for a working group on improving geological exploration and environmental management efficiency.
