Dmitry Medvedev: “The future of the world we live depends on technology development prospects. On the one hand, the world has become completely interconnected and very small, as the saying goes, while on the other hand, vulnerable, albeit very interesting. For this reason, the importance of cooperation in this area cannot be underestimated.”
Excerpts from Dmitry Medvedev’s opening remarks:
The IT industry, while barely in its teens, has been tremendously successful. We are all following the developments in the IT industry, digital services and e-commerce. In fact, these services have already become popular in every country.
For Russia, China is not just the biggest partner, but a country with which we have a special relationship.
Tomorrow, deals that will promote cooperation will be signed with a number of companies during the Russia-Chinese talks.
Chinese companies are leading and have achieved substantial results in many areas.
The world we live in is completely interconnected and vulnerable at the same time. For this reason, the importance of cooperation between countries, governments and companies in this area cannot be underestimated. At the end of the day, your work is about helping people and connecting them within a single space. This mission is extremely important, and the world’s population has been able to grapple with it so far despite all the difficulties and challenges it currently faces.
Your companies have been very successful, and have become models for developing many other services. This is a great opportunity to discuss where we are headed, to learn your perspective on the development of the world we live in, what can be expected in the future, things we should watch out for and what we should cheer about. All in all, I’m excited about looking toward the future during this conversation with you.
