An Eastern Military District interservice detachment comprising more than 100 troops, 25 motor vehicles and four field kitchens started moving toward the village of Ovsyanka, Zeya District, the Amur Region. The detachment will set up a tent camp for 1,200 evacuees and provide them with the basic necessities.
Motorised pontoon units are stationed near the village of Zarechnaya-na-Ukrainke and are prepared for action if the weather deteriorates.
Four amphibian personnel carriers from the district’s engineer units are on watch at the most flood-prone parts of the rivers and are ready to start building river crossings to help get civilians, private vehicles and other cargo to the opposite bank.
A field bakery from the Eastern Military District’s materiel support unit arriving to the affected area from Belogorsk is being deployed outside the village of Ivanovka, Zeya District, the Amur Region.
A unit of the military district’s separate covering brigade has joined the main forces to build a levee near the village of Leninskoye, the Jewish Autonomous Region. An interservice detachment of the road and commandant service company from the Eastern Eastern Military District based in Ussuriysk has arrived on site and began restoring the road in the Dalnerechensk District, the Primorye Territory. The work is performed by over 20 servicemen using 17 motor vehicles and special equipment units.
An operational reserve of 35 field kitchens and 45 tents has been established to provide relief to the civilians.
In addition, the Far Eastern Military Command School (Blagoveshchensk) has made available 650 beds to accommodate people from the flooded areas.
