Mikhail Mishustin’s opening remarks:
Good afternoon, colleagues.
We are countering the spread of the coronavirus everywhere across Russia. The epidemiological situation differs from region to region. However, there are still a lot of patients, which is a heavy burden on hospital and health care staff.
We continue to support them. In line with the President’s initiative, medical personnel taking care of coronavirus patients receive special bonuses on top of their main salary; not just doctors but nursing staff and medical attendants, paramedics and ambulance drivers.
The Government will additionally allocate almost 3.5 billion roubles for special social payments to the medical staff at military units, law enforcement agencies, the fire service and other departments.
All of them, as well as civilian medical personnel, are on the frontline in the fight against the infection. They often risk their own health when assisting patients with Covid-19. Federal funding will ensure special payments.
I would like to ask the heads of ministries and agencies to make all the necessary decisions so that the medical personnel receive all the funding as quickly as possible.
The entire world has been living with the pandemic for over two years now. The virus is changing. As is well-known, the most widespread variant in Russia now is Omicron. Experts warn that new mutations may arise. And it is necessary to continue studying the coronavirus. It should not be assumed that it has been defeated.
The consequences of the disease can be extremely serious. This is why we must take measures right now. The best way is to get vaccinated, and if the time comes, then get re-vaccinated to protect both your health and the health of your family.
Let us get down to the discussion.
