Mikhail Mishustin’s remarks at the event:
Mr Japarov, colleagues.
First of all, I would like to convey to you the warmest greetings and best wishes from President of Russia Vladimir Putin. I would like to say many thanks to you, the Prime Minister and all the colleagues who have helped to organise at a high level our meeting within the frame of the Council, for your hospitality.
We highly value Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to the Eurasian integration. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, we have been meeting regularly with all the heads of government to discuss topical matters. Today, we will continue this work in an expanded format with the participation of the EAEU member states.
In particular, and this is of utmost importance, we are going to discuss topics related to the alignment of unilateral non-tariff measures, insurance support of mutual and foreign trade, as well as the free movement of organic agricultural produce. Plans call for reaching a series of key decisions that will provide some additional opportunities for the development of the union. And, of course, we are going to improve interaction on digital transformation.
Yesterday, we agreed to create a very essential working group dedicated to climate change. It is critically important that all the challenges that we are facing today are not just discussed. This is why the union’s strategy has to be developed to further promote the climate agenda both in the interests of the union and also our countries.
I would just like to say thank you once again for everything and to wish us all a constructive working day.
