The parties discussed the progress in the agreements
on developing bilateral cooperation reached during talks on 6 December 2016 in
Moscow. Dmitry Medvedev and Binali Yildirim agreed to step-up their joint work
on major energy projects, including the construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear
Power Plant and the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
As concerns expanding cooperation in trade and the economy, the prime ministers confirmed the intentions of both countries to take action to facilitate easier access of Russian and Turkish goods to the markets in the respective countries.
Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to Binali Yildirim in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul. The heads of government stressed the importance of uniting efforts against terrorist threats.
The conversation also touched on other issues of mutual interest.
