Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich held a meeting of the Organising Committee of the 2nd Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. The meeting participants discussed the preparations for the event.
The summit of the heads of state and prime ministers of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) will be held in Moscow on 1 July 2013.
GECF is an association of the world’s leading gas exporting countries. Its main aim is to ensure the reliability of energy supply and demand, as well the development of mutual understanding between gas producers and consumers, and governments of gas exporting nations, creating a research base, sharing experience and establishing a sustainable and transparent gas market.
GECF includes 12 nations (Algeria, Bolivia, Venezuela, Egypt, Iran, Qatar, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Equatorial Guinea). Four nations have an observer status (the Netherlands, Norway, Kazakhstan and Iraq). The first GECF summit was held in Doha in November 2011.
The Presidential Press and Information Office’s Accreditation and Briefings Department is accepting applications for covering the second summit on the Russian President’s website. Accreditation applications will be accepted until June 20, 3 pm Moscow time.
