Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev sent messages to the Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, congratulating them on the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The messages stress that our countries honour the special memory of the great feat of the soldiers-liberators who gave their lives for the Motherland, for the freedom and happiness of posterity. Current and future generations will always remember the unyielding courage of the soldiers that fought in the Great Patriotic War and the selfless dedication of the home front workers.
Mr Medvedev expressed confidence that this battle-hardened fraternity and friendship would continue to serve as the foundation for diverse cooperation between our countries.
Mr Medvedev asked his colleagues to wish Great Patriotic War veterans in their respective countries health, happiness and a long life, and to convey to them sincere words of respect and gratitude for their selfless feat.
