Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev expressed serious concern over the aggravation of the developments around Nagorny Karabakh. He emphasised the need to strictly observe the ceasefire and the importance of resuming the political settlement process as soon as possible.
Mr Medvedev confirmed that he will pay an official visit to Armenia in the period agreed upon earlier: 7–8 April 2016.
At the talks with the Armenian leaders, Mr Medvedev plans to discuss the entire range of bilateral issues, including cooperation in the economy, power supplies, industry, and transport infrastructure.
Upon the completion of his visit to Armenia on 8 April 2016, Mr Medvedev will visit Azerbaijan.
During their telephone conversation, Mr Medvedev and Mr Abrahamyan discussed the proposal of Kazakhstan, which chairs the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union, to hold a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow next week.
