Excerpts from the transcript:
Dmitry Medvedev: The Russian language is not only one of the most interesting and beautiful ones, in my opinion, but it is also a common language of people of different ethnicities, for it is spoken in many countries, by many people. Russian is one of the official languages of the United Nations. Thus, those of you who are studying Russian will not regret it; it will most probably come in handy.
Russia is a fascinating country. Learning Russian will introduce you to the treasures of Russian culture, which it is quite engaging and rich, represented by, our prominent Russian writers, such as Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov and others. By Russian films and Russian music.

The years of 2006 and then 2007 were declared the years of Russia in China and China in Russia. They were followed by themed years: the year of the Russian language, the Chinese language, youth exchanges. And we are continuing this practice.
