Resolution, On Amending the Guidelines for Handling Production and Consumption Waste Related to Lighting Devices and Electric Lamps, the Improper Collection, Storage, Use, Disposal, Transportation and Accommodation of Which May be Harmful to the Life and Health of Humans, Animals, Plants and the Environment, drafted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in response to the action plan to improve state regulation in the sphere of energy conservation and energy efficiency in the Russian Federation and approved by Federal Government Directive No. 1794-r of September 27, 2012.
The resolution designates the persons in charge of organising and identifying sites for primary collection and storage of mercury-containing lamps used in residential and multi-family homes. In addition, the signed document sets forth the procedure for transportation of spent mercury-containing lamps.
The resolution is designed to reduce the risk of harm to the life or health of humans, animals, plants and the environment by improving the organisation of primary collection and storage and establishing the rules of transportation of spent mercury-containing lamps used in residential and multi-family homes.
