The Ministry of Sport has drafted a Government directive on distributing other 2013 inter-budget transfers to be used to finance the design and survey work for the construction and reconstruction of stadiums. The transfers have been allocated from the federal budget to the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for the purpose of preparing for and holding the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation.
The directive provides for redistributing other 2013 inter-budget transfers for these purposes in the amount of approximately 2.9 billion roubles, which has been earmarked for the Republic of Mordovia and for the Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Rostov regions.
The directive’s implementation will be financed from the funds (4.9 billion roubles) earmarked for the Ministry of Sport under the Federal Law On the Federal Budget for 2013 and the 2014-2015 Planning Period and its special-purpose item “Implementing Measures to Prepare and Hold the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the Russian Federation, Related to Design and Survey Work for the Purpose of Construction and Reconstruction of Stadiums.”
The directive will make it possible to ensure funding for design and survey work for the purpose of construction or reconstruction of seven stadiums which will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup games.
