The Russian Seasons international project is implemented in accordance with Government Directive No. 304-r of 18 February 2017, which provides for the organisation of an annual tour of Russia’s best artistic offerings – in particular significant exhibitions from the collections of Russian largest museums, music festivals and theatre performances, festivals of circus arts and films – in a foreign country.

Major tours in 70 Italian cities are envisaged, including a tour of the Bolshoi Theatre at La Scala, tours of the Aleksandrinsky, Mariinsly, Vakhatangov, Maly, Mikhailovsky, Yekaterinburg theatres, Alexander Kalyagin’s Et Cetera Theatre, Satirikon Theatre, Lev Dodin’s Maly Drama Theatre, the Natalya Sats Children’s Theatre. Concerts by orchestras conducted by Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Yury Bashmet, Yury Temirkanov, Vladimir Spivakov, Yury Simonov, as well as tours by performers Denis Matsuev, Boris Berezovsky, Vadim Repin, Svetlana Zakharova, and Moiseyev Dance Company will be held. Outstanding museum exhibits will be presented by the Hermitage, the Russian Museum and other museums. The programme also includes tours of the Moscow Circus, film and animated cartoon festivals.
The signed directive allocates funds from the reserve fund of the Russian Government for the implementation of the Russian Seasons project in Italy.
A similar Italian cultural programme will be arranged in Russia.
