The resolution has been submitted by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, pursuant to the Russian President’s Executive Order No. 320 dated 24 June 2015 “On Extending Certain Special Economic Measures in the Interest of Ensuring the Security of the Russian Federation.”
The resolution introduces amendments to Government Resolution No. 778 dated 7 August 2014 “On Measures to Implement the Russian President’s Executive Order No. 560 dated 6 August 2014, On the Introduction of Certain Special Economic Measures in the Interest of Ensuring the Security of the Russian Federation.”
The resolution provides for a one-year extension of the ban on the import of certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs originating from the United States of America, the EU member countries, Canada, Australia and the Kingdom of Norway.
It also approves a new list of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs that are banned from import to Russia (hereinafter, the list).
In particular, the list excludes Oncorhynchus mykiss, young (spat) oysters and mussels. This will make it possible to increase the production of aquaculture products, which are in demand on the Russian market, and also to set up new fish farms and support the existing ones.
Furthermore, the list includes food or finished products manufactured according to cheese production technology that contain 1.5 percent or more of milk fat.
