The Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) is a federal executive body responsible for the functions of rendering government services and managing state property in healthcare, including the provision of medical aid, managing the Blood Service, control and oversight in the sphere of blood and blood component donation, control and oversight of sanitary-epidemiological health of employees of organisations in some industries with hazardous working conditions (including space flight and the training involved, as well as diving and caisson operations) and of the population in the territories on the government-approved list (hereinafter referred to as entitled organisations and entitled territories), including medical and sanitary support for the personnel of entitled organisations and the population of entitled territories (including services at health resorts, the organisation of forensic medical and psychiatric examination, and human organ and tissue transplantation) and arrangements for medical and social assessment of the personnel of entitled organisations and the population of entitled territories.
