Following the instruction of President Vladimir Putin, Minister of Healthcare Veronika Skvortsova has established an emergency centre to monitor and coordinate activities of federal and regional departments on providing the population with well-timed medical assistance in areas of flooding, and to maintain normal sanitation and epidemiological situation.
The emergency centre controls the evacuation of residents to temporary accommodation centres, as well as medical assistance, if needed, and monitors the equipment of health facilities and their readiness to receive patients.
In addition, the centre should carry out activities to ensure the advanced readiness of medical staff.
The centre supervises the provision of drinking water and medicine and immunological drug supplies, including vaccines.
To help the regional healthcare, the following medicines were delivered: 18,000 dosages of the Shigellvak preventive vaccine for dysentery, 6,700 dosages of universal vaccine against hepatitis A for children and adults and 7,000 doses of typhoid vaccine for adults.
