Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, the head of the Russian delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, took part in the forum’s work on 22-23 January. Events on Russia focused on the development of its regions.
The round table “Russia’s Regions as Growth Sources” was held on the first day of the forum with the participation of regional governors. The session was also attended by Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev, VEB CEO Vladimir Dmitriyev and Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriyev. We are trying to be objective,” Mr Dvorkovich said, following the discussion.
A round table on the Krasnoyarsk Territory was held during the forum. The participants discussed sources of growth in Siberia.
Representatives of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa discussed their slowing economic growth rates during the BRICS session. Dvorkovich and Ulyukayev held talks with US Trade Representative Michael Froman on the forum’s sidelines. They discussed bilateral agreements on most favoured nation status and protection of investment.
Deputy Prime Minister Dvorkovich also took part in the session devoted to the upcoming Paralympic Games and the G20 discussion panel, and held several meetings with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and investors.
