Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff Vladislav Surkov has attended a presentation of the Centre of New Culture project in Pervouralsk. The presentation featured the project concept and events programme for the next year.
The presentation was followed by a groundbreaking ceremony.
The project aims to spread knowledge and the latest technologies through such centres, as well as to provide favourable conditions for young people to engage in creative activities and to fulfil their goals in towns with a population between 50,000 and 500,000.
New culture pilot centres will be built in Kaluga and Pervouralsk and on Vladivostok's Russky Island, with the assistance of the regional authorities and private partners.
Mr Surkov also visited the Ural Federal University's Centre for High-Technology Engineering, where he met with students, innovative project authors, and the heads of research and development groups.
