Dear friends,
I welcome you to the international forum which has attracted government officials, businesspeople, agribusiness leaders, and Russian and foreign experts.
The forum’s agenda includes such current issues as attracting investments in the Russian agro-industrial sector, improving legislation in this area and developing public-private partnership.
The Russian Government lays special emphasis on the support of the agro-industrial sector and allocates significant funds for the modernisation of agricultural companies, increasing their profitability, creating new jobs, supplying energy and gas to rural areas and providing a comfortable environment for everyone who works to guarantee the country’s food security.
To date, the key directions of the national investment policy in the agro-industrial sector are to provide interest rate subsidies, develop specialised part-owned financial bodies, and form regional and municipal guarantee funds. It is vitally important that long-term financial resources are available to both large companies and village cooperatives and farms, for they are responsible for sustainable economic growth and the well-being of millions of people.
I hope that during the forum, the participants will work out joint practical initiatives.
I wish you productive discussions, new business contacts, and all the best.
Dmitry Medvedev
