Addressing forum participants, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Government would soon approve a state transport development programme up to 2020. Dvorkovich said "the state transport development programme [up to 2020], which has been approved by the Government, and which will soon be passed, is the main instrument for implementing the state's transport strategy."
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the state programme was a "living programme," which "will inevitably be altered by us and financial plans will be also adjusted whenever it becomes possible to use (various) financing instruments." Mr Dvorkovich explained. In particular, that adjustments in the transport programme would be linked with the implementation of major projects, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that "the quality of transport services must improve visibly in all of European Russia" by that deadline. This concerns those Russian cities, which will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. "This implies the development of all transit systems, but we will focus on air and railway transport," Dvorkovich added.
