The meeting was held as part of a session of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation).
Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:
Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Prime Minister, I am pleased to meet with you. Our meeting will allow you to share – briefly, anyway – your impressions of how well Russian-Mongolian ties and cooperation on various issues are developing. I would say that in general, the momentum is good – trade is at a normal level and there are a number of large projects being implemented, but there are issues that should be discussed at the prime minister level. And let me wish you success in your work.
Norovyn Altankhuyag (via interpreter): I am happy to meet with you today, Mr Medvedev! I fully agree with your concise assessment of Mongolian-Russian relations.
Your state visit, which took place in 2009 as the President of the Russian Federation, has made a tremendous contribution to the development of bilateral relations. I take this opportunity to extend to you the sincere best wishes of the President of Mongolia, Mr Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.
Dmitry Medvedev: Thank you. Give my regards and best wishes to Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.
