Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:
Zhantoro Satybaldiyev: First of all I would like to thank you for the assistance you have provided this year. Our bilateral relations are expanding very dynamically, which is reflected by events that took place in the three months since a bilateral agreement was signed to build the Kambarata-1 hydropower station and the Upper Naryn Hydroelectric Cascade. In addition, there has been the settlement of our financial issues, financial support and humanitarian cargo deliveries. I could go on.
On behalf of the Kyrgyz people and Kyrgyz Government, I would like to express our gratitude for your work. We wish you success for all your plans and projects.
Dmitry Medvedev: Thank you Mr Satybaldiyev. I would also like to thank you for your hospitality and for organising our work at the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State. I think it went smoothly and at a high level, and it achieved the necessary results. Now it is time to discuss Russian-Kyrgyz bilateral relations and some of the projects that have scheduled for the next few years. We are ready to discuss this, and of course, the Russian delegation is prepared as well. The signing ceremony that we attended of one of the important Russian-Kyrgyz agreements was certainly a good start.
Thank you again for your invitation and for organising the summit’s work, and our work as well.
Zhantoro Satybaldiyev: I hope that our relations will expand as intensively as they have today. My ministers are telling me that the feasibility study for the Upper Naryn project is progressing smoothly, and the Kambarata project is already at the stage of selecting a contractor.
